Your role as an International Procurement Trainee - Heat & Distribution

The department you're going to be part is Procurement Heat and Distribution UK (FPSU). FPSU supports the Heat UK business in delivering low carbon heat and hot water across the UK and provides procurement support for our UK Distribution (IDNO) activities. We design, build and operate low carbon, city-scale heat networks. Our heat networks are in Bristol, Midlothian (Scotland) and Brent Cross Town (London)

Our main Categories Bought:

  • A variety of technical engineering and design services for Both heat and Electricity production and distribution
  • Heat/cold district construction materials and services (Buried Networks contracting, installation services, insulated pipes, Heat interface units, stations etc.)
  • EPC contracting for Energy centers, Transformer stations, Building construction, refurbishment and repair

Your role esponsibilities include

  • Support the Heat and Distribution UK organization with continued development and implementation of lean and efficient procurement processes
  • With the support of the Procurement colleagues run Tactical Procurement activities, (RFQ’s, tenders, negotiations)
  • Support in securing compliance in regards to HSE, Sustainability and social value requirements
  • Participate in creating and developing Procurement tender and contract templates and standards
  • Together with the Procurement head explore options to improve cooperation and involvement of centralized procurement departments Tactical procurement and Procurement operational support

Your profile

Your qualifications as an International Procurement Trainee -

To succeed in this position, we are looking for individuals who possess both the professional and personal skills to thrive in a dynamic, global environment.   

To be considered for our traineeship, we are looking for candidates who should:     

  • Be a recent graduate with an academic degree or expected graduation before September 2025.    
  • Have maximum one year of work experience after completing your most recent degree. Interns and student jobs will not be considered.  
  • Be fluent in English. Skills in other languages are a plus.     
  • Be organized, proactive, open minded and results oriented.
  • Be willing to travel regularly and relocate for short rotations within our organization.   
  • Identify with our values: active, open, positive and safety.     
  • Have a strong desire for long-term commitment to contribute to Vattenfall’s vision, making a lasting impact on the future of energy.

You will be working in the department Heat and Distribution UK, part of Procurement and located in London (GB).
